I should again emphasize that these are **really old notes**, pre-2008, and some of these bugs in software may have been fixed since then.

I hit an interesting bug with a DVD, today.  I was trying to get the 
trailers from Bedknobs and Broomsticks.  I could play them with Xine, 
but lsdvd wasn't showing them anywhere.  I finally fired up dvd::rip and 
it found them, but only when I wouldn't use lsdvd to probe the device.

Also, the authoring seems a little buggy (or the mplayer code, or both), 
because I could only watch it in dvd::rip using mplayer after probing 
the device with transcode.  If I tried mplayer with the same command 
later, it would kill it and start over at the original chapter.

It seems like the problem is that when there are tracks of zero length 
padded between chapters, it ignores those.
